Keep an EYE on this spot, there's MORE TO COME !
Now HERE'S ONE
It has been modified by somebody who really knew his stuff.
GET THIS:
He was apparently looking at some signals, that he liked.
They were somewhere in the 10 MHz to 30 MHz frequency range,
so he used a good old WJ ( or CEI)
VT-11 to tune them in.
but they were AM or FM, so he wanted to use a demodulator to bring it
( or them)up nicely. This guy was a perfectionist.
so he used the DM-4 Demodulator that came with his
WJ system
That worked, but he needed THESE THREE THINGS.
Now, this is how we know he was a spy: If he was normal working Dude, he wouldn't worry about using a little extra gear.
But if he was sneaking around, he would need OPerational SECurity (OPSEC): (the art of sneaking around.) That DM-4 and an IFD are not a lot of extra luggage, but they do diminish your OPSEC. THEY INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING BUSTED.
So he asked his boss: -----------------" Can i do this job with something smaller?".
and his boss said: *** " YEAH: THERE'S SOME EXTRA ROOM INSIDE THAT VT-11... "
*** " AND YOU ONLY NEED ONE IFD FOR THIS JOB.."
*** " SEE IF YOU CAN STUFF THE IFD INTO THE VT-11,"
*** " AND BYPASS ALL THE OTHER DM-4 STUFF"
--------------" What are you, NUTS? "
*** " DO IT!"
--------------" &*^^%!!"
*** " WHAT DID YOU SAY ?!"
--------------" ( gulp!)"
--------------" er.. aye, aye sir "
And THAT, ( more or less,) is how this modified VT-11 came to be.
This was obviously some kind of a government job, but in our opinion, they produced a MASTERPIECE.
BZ!
